Iron Cross Ultra Run

Introduction

Deep in the heart of michaux state forest, racers will tow the line and compete against not only each other but a brutal course, requiring runners to be good at everything from careful trail running, power climbing, rock scrambles, road running, and much more. The Iron Cross Ultra Run requires a well rounded athlete, pushing them to the limit. Come check out a good ole fashion central PA 50k!

Course



With 3,800 feet of climbing, this course feels like an ass kicker, be sure of that. With many terrain transitions, an all around runner will be the one to find success on this course. With a base platform of dirt roads, a smattering of double track, technical single track, and pavement sections make this course a diverse challenge.

Mapped Distance is 34.12 miles. Finishing times could range from 5.6 hours to 9.6 hours.



Water Stops/Support

Water stops will be at:

#1- 9.66 miles
#2- 22.22 miles
#3- 28.32 miles

Aide stations will be stops along the course with water to refill your water bottle or camelback, as well as HEED or Coke. We will also have some things like pretzels, bananas, chips, peanut butter sandwiches, Twizzlers, and things like that.

Mainly these are spots so that we can record your number and keep track of you. There is a 4pm cutoff at check point number 3. This is pretty fair, so it's very firm.

Post Race

We'll have free chili for your enjoyment post race, as well as finishers awards for everyone!
